Every year 12 student teams participate in this competition. The first and second competition of this schoolyear are finished. A new competition will start next schoolyear in September.
Report finals:
On Monday May the 14th the semi-finals and final of the second student futsal competition took place. The first semi-final was going between the Hangovers and MEM Ballers. The Hangovers became 1st in poule 1 by winning all their matches quite easy. The MEM Ballers were 2nd in poule 1. They gained 10 points in 5 matches. In this first semi-final the Hangovers were much better than the MEM Ballers. They won the match with 9-0 and became the first finalist.
The other semi-final was going between ESN, number 2nd in the first poule and Swiftboys 8, number 1st in the second poule. Unfortunately Swiftboys 8 didn’t showed up, so without playing ESN became the second finalist. So in this final they have to play against their big rival the Hangovers. In the last edition of this tournament the Hangovers beat ESN with 4-2 and won the title. Also in the group stage of the second competition the Hangovers were too strong for ESN. So ESN get a great chance to take their revenge. It promised to be a good final.
From the start both teams played to win. This resulted is some opportunities to score on both sides. But during the first half it was ESN that was the better team. This led in a 1-0 lead after a nice combination. In the second half it was again ESN that made the difference. They got the best opportunities and made the 2-0. The Hangovers tried everything but they didn’t got grip on the game. Still they had some good chances, but they were a bit unlucky. The crossbar and post were hit several times. In the last phase of the match the Hangovers pressured a bit more, but is was ENS that made the victory definitive by making the 3-0 from a counter. This was also the end result and ESN received the cup and won the title for the first time.
